It is more difficult to\u00a0show the best angle,\u00a0a sharper focus, the most flattering light, but it gives a\u00a0more refined photo. Something different than a snapshot. We try.<\/div>\n<div>A picture with no reference can come from anywhere.\u00a0An interesting tree full of knots and twisted branches is\u00a0enchanting if the Temple of Heaven peaks out from behind. We try to leave our audience with a whisper of where.<\/div>\n<div>When we started taking pictures in Beijing it was so long ago our photos were on film.\u00a0\u00a0Some\u00a0were printed and stuck in\u00a0 albums, some shoved\u00a0in boxes with their negatives lost in the shed out back.<\/div>\n<div>Once we went digital our images tsunamied into a wave of hard drives we are still trying to manage.
